Toni Braxton Talks About Regretting Abortion in New Memoir: Did God Punish Me?

Toni Braxton shares some of her most intimate, personal stories in her new memoir, Unbreak My Heart.

In the book, the eldest sister of the famous Braxton family, recalls having an abortion years ago. She shares that when she was pregnant, with her then-boyfriend (who she later married and eventually divorced) Keri Lewis, she had been taking six-month prescription of Accutane, a heavy-duty prescription acne treatment which comes with serious side effects for fetuses.

She ultimately decided to have an abortion, but admits that even if she hadn’t been on the medication, she would’ve made the same decision. She says that her decision to terminate her pregnancy had more to do with convenience than fear her baby would be abnormal.
