Toni Braxton Talks About Regretting Abortion in New Memoir: Did God Punish Me?

After the experience, she says that for weeks afterward she felt guilty. Growing up, abortion was against her families religious beliefs. According to Toni, her family was UBER religious, not allowing her and her sisters to wear pants, forbidden to go to the movies, etc.

Years later, Toni’s youngest son, Diezel, was diagnosed with autism and she felt she was to blame. She wrote:

Is God punishing me for that abortion?

Toni explains that she was so consumed with guilt over the abortion that she questioned if God was punishing her by giving her lupus. In the book, she also discusses her two bankruptcies and how she bounced back in her career. [New York Daily News]
