Pink Slip Problems: The Arsenio Hall Show Cancelled After Debut Season
It’s lights off permanently for the Arsenio Hall Show.
According to Deadline, CBS won’t be renewing the show for a season two. After Jay Leno ended his late night series, The Tonight Show, Hall picked up his time slot and tried to win over his viewers but was unsuccessful in his approach. The show initially inked a two-year deal in February and Leno even made his first TV appearance since his departure to announce it got picked up for an additional season.
The show’s failure to stay consistent with the household ratings when it launched nor get a spike when the veteran talk show host had Prince or Eddie Murphy sit down with him, ultimately led to his demise.
The network’s television distribution said in a statement:
