[INTERVIEW] Tahj Mowry Showcases New Music, Talks Eclectic “Future Funk” & Being Respected as a Musician
If you’re anything like me, chances are you’re completely oblivious that the baby (he’s a grown a** man now) brother of Tia and Tamera Mowry is a budding musician. In fact, he’s not only gearing up to show off his music chops, but he’s been dabbling in music and dance for years.
Most of us remember T.J. Henderson, the “pugnacious little shorty with a thousand IQ,” who had us glued to ‘The WB’ on Wednesday nights back in the 90’s. That same ‘little shorty’ is now a grown man, starring in the ABC comedy series, “Baby Daddy,” not at all shying away from his passion for music. theJasmineBRAND.com correspondent @Smith caught up with at his musical showcase. Check out our conversation below.
theJasmineBRAND.com: How does it feel?
Tahj Mowry: Feels good! I’m really excited; this is something I’ve been wanting to do for awhile, and I finally got a big chunk of time to do it, so I’m stoked, [and] I can’t wait for people to hear it. I’ve been like, waiting for today.
theJasmineBRAND.com: I feel like you’ve been holding out on us.
Tahj Mowry: I have, I have!
theJasmineBRAND.com: Whats up with that?
Tahj Mowry: You know its all about timing, and about making sure that I’m happy with the product. I don’t wanna just throw something out there. People are gonna judge regardless, so its gotta be perfect, and it hasn’t been out yet because I didn’t feel like it was perfect, but now its the time where I feel like its perfect.
theJasmineBRAND.com: So tell us a little bit about your sound? What can we expect to hear when your single drops?
