[INTERVIEW] Faith Evans Reveals Collaborations With Tevin Campbell, Karen Clark-Sheard & Keyshia Cole
Faith Evans: Yes, Karen is actually on a song on my new album, and I’m on a song on her new album as well. I just did several songs on Keyshia Cole’s new album that I did some vocal production and arrangements, and backgrounds. I’m about to work on Tevin Campbell’s new project, he’s been reaching out to me for a minute. We just wrote a really hot song that Nicci Gilbert recorded so I’m trying to convince her to go ahead and let me do that album! My album Incomparable will be out October 28th, and my new single, “I Deserve It” with Missy [Elliot] and Sharaya J, it’s streaming now and will be on iTunes on August 26th.
theJasmineBRAND: What do you think about the state of Hip Hop and music right now? What do you feel about where it’s going?
Faith Evans: I think it’s always going whichever way it’s going, it’s always going. I feel like there’s always a way that someone wants to express their creativity. I’m not really one to judge people’s way of expressing their creativity. As long as there’s people out there who enjoy it, then who am I to be like ‘this is not good’? People have the right to like what they like.
theJasmineBRAND: What’s one of your guilty pleasures? How do you pamper yourself?
Faith Evans: I’m definitely a shoe addict. I think if anything I get like facials and massages. My beauty services, I’m very much into that stuff. I gotta keep my appointments every six weeks, everything from waxing to electrolysis, all of that stuff that ladies gotta worry about.
