[WATCH] Rapper Talib Kweli & CNN’s Don Lemon Argue Over Disrespect & Coverage: Let me finish!
Things got extremely awkward, yet entertaining when a heated exchange took place between rapper Talib Kweli and CNN’s Don Lemon. Both were in Ferguson, while Kweli was invited on to discuss the current tense environment in the city. Things started okay, until Kweli made a comment about how he felt the media was not providing an accurate representation of the protests. In fact, he cited one of CNN’s headlines. At this point, Lemon interjected and things went, awry.
During their exchange, Kweli told Lemon
I would listen to you if you had the decency to greet me. You didn’t even invite me. Nicole invited me. You didn’t even say nothing to me. You were on your phone the whole time. You asked how to pronounce my name. You don’t have respect for who I am.
