(EXCLUSIVE) Bank Attempts Foreclosure On En Vogue Singer Maxine Jones’ Home
According to the docs, Jones brings home nothing from her music royalties and her only income is from rental properties & that brings her in $3,473 a month. Her monthly expenses are $4,110 which leaves her in the hole $636 a month.
On December 22nd, the bank which owns her Virgina home filed docs in the case. They explain that Jones took out a $215k loan with them back in 2006 to purchase her Palmyra, Virgina property.
They claim that as of this month, Jones owes a total of $208,025.13 on the note and it continues to grow with interest. The bank says that the singer was to continue making her mortgage payments on the note even after she filed for bankruptcy … in the amount of $2,052 a month. They reportedly accuse Jones of missing payments for October and November.
The bank says she is now in default on her mortgage and they are demanding the court allow them to foreclose on the property due to her non-payments stating the home is only worth an estimated $158k at this time.
The judge has yet to make a decision on the bank’s motion. See the exclusive court docs.
