R.Kelly Says Aaliyah Movie Was A Flop: Can’t nobody play me, homie. + R. Kelly Releases ‘Happy Birthday’ [New Music]
You can add R.Kelly to the extremely long list of folk unpleased with Lifetime’s Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B biopic that aired last november. This week, the legendary R&B crooner visited The Big Tigger Show (it happened to be his 48th birthday) and when asked about how he felt about the made-for-movie film, he was quite candid with his response:
You asked me this question…I didn’t know you was gonna ask me that. Listen, I didn’t watch that. Once they said they was making a movie and somebody was gon’ be playing me — can’t nobody play me, homie.
You got to know me to play me. You don’t know me, you can’t play me. It’s impossible. So why should I watch something that’s not real? When I’m real.
