RHOA’s Demetria McKinney Doesn’t Need An Engagement to Feel Secure: I ain’t worried about what everybody else thinks.
Demetria McKinney is a new cast member on Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta this season, and so far, fans and fellow cast members have questioned whether the eight-year relationship she claims with her manager, Roger Bobb, is real. Over the course of eleven episodes, McKinney has learned of a lover from Bobb’s past and flown the Housewives of Atlanta cast to Puerto Rico for a debut performance of her music — with the absence of her man. McKinney’s co-stars have badgered her about if she and Bobb were serious; and if so, why she’s still ringless.
During an interview, Thursday, with The Ryan Cameron Morning Show on Atlanta’s V103.3 radio station, comedian Wanda Smith told McKinney “we ain’t doing that in 2015.” McKinney replied,
We are doing that as long as he’s faithful, as long as I’m happy and as long as it makes sense to me. I ain’t worried about what everybody else thinks.
McKinney said the pressure everyone has placed on them to get married does not faze her.
Society wants to put labels on things way to often. If he’s committed, and I’m committed and we’re happy in that, until I find a place where I’m not, then I’m going to stay in that.
McKinney said her relationship is not the one people should be worried about, and her peers on the show have little right to comment about her situation.
If you look at it, no shade no tea, but there’s people that have been on here and got divorced;
