Idris Elba Covers ‘Maxim Man Up’ [Photos]

Idris Elba (real name Idrissa Akuna “Idris” Elba) is the latest cover star for Maxim Man Up. Idris is the first male to make the cover of Maxim by himself with the release of the men’s magazine’s September issue.

Maxim editor-in-chief Kate Lanphear told Racked: 

This is the very first time, and there was no one else in the world more badass than Idris.

The 43-year-old England bred actor — who most of us were introduced to on HBO’s The Wire — hits the big screen next month in Cary Fukunaga’s Beasts of No Nation. In the issue — that hits stands August 5th — Idris talks music, sex, auto racing and speculation surrounding James Bond.
