(EXCLUSIVE) Busta Rhymes Settles Lawsuit With The Sugarhill Gang
theJasmineBRAND.com exclusively reports, Busta Rhymes has finally reached a settlement with The Sugarhill Gang in the lawsuit accusing him of ripping off their hit song, following a never ending battle and years of fighting each other in the courtroom.
Rhymes was sued by The Sugarhill Gang in federal court back in late 2012. The 80’s rap group claimed that Rhymes breakout first single “Woo Hah! Got You All in Check” was a rip off of their 1980’s song “8th Wonder”. The band sued, claiming 20 percent of their lyrics were stolen by the rapper and accused him of using exactly the same lines they did in their hit.
