(EXCLUSIVE) The Game – Concert Promoter Demands $500k, After Rapper Skips Performance
They demanded the return of the $35k deposit and an additional $30k for a cancellation fee that was agreed upon in the agreement. They say the rapper and his team refused and they filed suit demanding damages for his breach of contract.
Then on October 30th, the promotion company filed a motion for default against The Game. They explain he was served with their legal papers back in January, but he has blown off the legal battle and refused to show up to court to address the lawsuit.
The promotion company – who originally demanded $75k + in damages – is now pleading with the judge to award them a default judgement in the amount of $355k in losses, $160k in money lost in ticket sales and $10k for the money they spent to promote the event — for a grand total of $525,000.
The judge will make a decision in the near future on the promoters motion.
