Regina King Talks Emmy Win, Directing & Love: I don’t feel the pressure to be married. [VIDEO]
With decades of acting under her belt, a newly developed title of director all while being a mother, Regina King hasn’t lost a step or skipped a beat in Hollywood. During a recent interview with Renada Romain, King discusses her move to directing, the support she’s received in her career thus far and motherhood. Peep the excerpts below.
On the support she received after her Emmy win:
I’ve always had amazing support all of my life. I feel like everyone’s support has been genuine and I’ve just been like a cheshire cat.
Her relevance in the industry:
You have to kind of create your own lane. Having faith and confidence in myself has kept me going. I don’t feel the pressure to be married or anything like that because the complete package is whatever I want it to be for me. My desire to become an actress was not to be a celebrity, but from watching amazing actors and feeling so many emotions from their art.
