Regina King Talks Emmy Win, Directing & Love: I don’t feel the pressure to be married. [VIDEO]

Her move into directing:

I said I wanted to do it and I told Paris Barker and showed him the Jaheim, Find My Way Back video I directed and he watched it. He watched it with no sound and when it was done he said he could see the story I put together, then he gave me a questionnaire. The answers to that lead him to understanding my seriousness and he introduced me to the directors program.

Her life and motherhood:

My son is 19 and although we are not friends, we are working our way to the friend zone with our honesty and communication. Sometimes it’s a little too much honesty, but I’m just glad he’s comfortable enough to share with me. When it’s time for him to find me, I could call and email, but I believe in space. He has his own house and I live next door. It’s all in what you define for you.
