Eazy-E’s Widow Tomica Woods-Wright Launches Ruthless Entertainment
Eazy-E’s widow, Tomica Woods-Wright, has launched production company Ruthless Entertainment, according to a new report. This comes a year after successfully producing Universal’s Straight Outta Compton.
Reportedly, she has signed with management/production company Circle of Confusion, and the two firms are developing a few new projects, including drama series Ruthless, loosely inspired by the life of the N.W.A. co-founder, Eric Wright; animated half-hour adult comedy Eazy Duz It and documentary feature The Hip Hop Thugsta: Eazy-E.
Tomica ran Ruthless Records, the label founded by Eazy-E in 1987, since the rapper’s death from AIDS-related complications in 1995.
Circle partner David Engel, an executive producer on Straight Outta Compton, said in a statement,
We couldn’t be more excited to help Ruthless Entertainment achieve the same success in TV, film and digital that Tomica has with Ruthless Records in music. Ruthless is a global brand started by Eazy-E, and Tomica has captained it for the last 20 years and has grown it into a multimillion-dollar business.
