UPDATE: E! is denying reports that the series Keeping Up with the Kardashians has temporarily shut down production as Kim Kardashian deals with her husband’s health. They share in a statement:
Keeping Up with the Kardashians is currently in production and has not been halted.
Here’s the backstory: Keeping Up with the Kardashians is on hold for now. According to a new report, production on E!’s hit reality show stopped in October, when Kim Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint in Paris. Reportedly, the production company wanted to film through the holiday season, however, with the robbery and Kanye West’s hospitalization, no filming will take place through the remaining of 2016. The Kardashian nor Jenner family have commented on the status of KUWK or Kanye’s hospitalization.
Keeping Up with the Kardashians focuses on the personal and professional lives of the Kardashian–Jenner blended family. Its premise originated with Ryan Seacrest, who also serves as an executive producer. The series debuted on October 14, 2007 and has subsequently become one of the longest-running reality television series in the country; the twelfth season of the show premiered on May 1, 2016.
The series focuses mainly on sisters Kim, Kourtney, Khloé Kardashian, and their half-sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner. It also features their parents Kris and Caitlyn Jenner (previously known as Bruce Jenner), and brother Rob Kardashian. The significant others of the Kardashian sisters have also appeared on the show, including Kourtney’s ex-boyfriend Scott Disick and Khloé’s ex-husband Lamar Odom. Caitlyn’s son Brody made cameo appearances in the early seasons before joining the show to appear regularly, along with his brother Brandon, and Brandon’s wife, Leah. Kim’s friend Jonathan Cheban and Khloé’s friend Malika Haqq have also been part of the show.
The series’ success has led additionally to the creation of numerous spin-off series, including: Kourtney and Kim Take Miami, Kourtney and Kim Take New York, Khloé & Lamar, Kourtney and Khloé Take The Hamptons, Dash Dolls, and, most recently, Rob & Chyna.
