Issa Rae & Jussie Smollett New Series ‘Giants’
Issa Rae and Jussie Smollett have teamed up for a new web series, called ‘Giants‘. The series, is produced by Issa’s production company. See the description below.
Giants explores social issues that are either ignored or stigmatized by the black community. And regardless of race, these characters’ experiences are relatable to almost anyone because they learn the hard way that when life kicks your a**, you either lie down or fight back.

Jo-Issa “Issa” Rae Diop is an actress, writer, director, producer and web series creator. She is best known as the creator of the YouTube web series Awkward Black Girl. Since the premiere of Awkward Black Girl, Rae has developed her own YouTube platform where she features various content created by people of color. Rae’s shows have garnered over 20 million views and over 200,000 subscribers on YouTube. As of 2016, Rae is the creator, co-writer and star of the HBO series Insecure, which is partially based on Awkward Black Girl.
Smollett is an actor, singer and photographer. As a child, he began his acting career for summer fun in 1987 starring in national network commercials in NYC. He later co-starred in the films “The Mighty Ducks” (1992) and Rob Reiner’s “North” (1994). In 2015, Smollett received rave reviews for his portrayal of musician Jamal Lyon in the Fox music-industry primetime TV drama Empire. Smollett is set to appear in Ridley Scott’s science-fiction film Alien: Covenant which is going to be released on May 19, 2017.
