(EXCLUSIVE) Karlie Redd – $1 Million Legal Battle Over Alleged Rape Accusations Dismissed
Karlie Redd – $1 Million Legal Battle Dismissed
theJasmineBRAND.com exclusively reports, Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star Karlie Redd can breathe a little easier now that the $1 million dollar lawsuit has been thrown out of court in the suit filed by a rapper who accused her of spreading false accusations of him raping her & ruining his reputation.
Here’s the latest: On March 10th, a final order was entered into the case by the judge stating the entire case is dismissed, due to Christopher Powe failing to serve Karlie Redd with the legal papers.
The judge notes that Powe was granted extensions to serve the reality star but failed to complete it, therefore, the case is dismissed completely due to Powe not having any contact with the court on an update.
Here’s the backstory: Last year, the reality star was hit with a restraining order by a rapper/promoter named Christopher Powe (aka Pharaoh).
He filed a police report stating the two were in a romantic relationship and got into a fight while at an ATL hotel. Powe claimed Redd was drunk and went crazy, even threatening to spread lies about him raping her.
Powe said he tried to leave the room but she locked herself in the bathroom with his stuff – including 2 phones – and said she was going to flush them.
He ran to get hotel security but when they got to the room she was gone and she left his stuff in the room safe. Redd responded, saying she feared for her safety and caught him taking pictures of her sleeping, which he was trying to cover up.
Following the incident, Powe sued Redd for trashing his name in the press with lies about him alleging attacking her, trying to rape her and take photos of her sleeping, all of which he said were lies. He demanded $1 million in damages, a retraction and apology for her actions.
