Cuba Gooding Jr. Reacts To Father’s Death

Cuba Gooding Jr. has responded to the news of his father Cuba Gooding Sr’s death. The actor posted a vintage photo of his dad, with the caption:

Eternal.

Directors and movie producers John Singleton and Lee Daniels shared their condolences on the post.

Cuba Sr was a soul singer. He died Thursday, April 20th at the age of 72. Reportedly, he was found dead in his car in Woodland Hills. The fire department responded to the scene and attempted CPR, but could not resuscitate him. Reportedly, police found empty alcohol containers in the car, and suspect he died from an overdose.

Cuba Sr.was the lead singer of the ’70s soul group the Main Ingredient. His early ’70s hits included Everybody Plays the Fool and Just Don’t Want to be Lonely.

Cuba Sr. and his wife, Shirley, married twice, first in 1974 and then remarried in 1995. They had four children together: actors Cuba Gooding Jr., Omar Gooding, April Gooding and musician Tommy Gooding.
