TLC: “We’re clear TLC ain’t the same since Lisa Died”
T-Boz and Chilli are officially back! The members of the legendary group TLC stopped by Big Boy’s Neighborhood to discuss their recently released single “Way Back” and upcoming album. The duo also discussed their Kickstarter campaign for the album, Chilli dishes her vintage kiss with Michael Jackson and T-Boz opens up about her book that talks about her battle with sickle-cell anemia. Peep the excerpts below.
On their fans naming their new album:
T-Boz: We always listen to our fans because they really inspire us because they are half of the reason why we are still doing this.
On the music industry:
Chilli: Unfortunately, no matter how hard you’ve worked and the doors you’ve opened and the records you’ve broken. All that kind of stuff, you’re only as good as your last album or whatever it was.
On being entertainers:
T-Boz: Dancing and performing, we’re born entertainers. I can’t lose that.
On Left Eye’s presence on the new album:
T-Boz: We’re trying to still figure something out, but if not we’ll try to do interludes and everything we can. But either way, we keep her memory alive through our music, through our shows and we incorporate her through everything in any way we can.
On their new ‘normal’:
T Boz: We’re clear TLC ain’t the same since Lisa died, we’re not like … crazy but at the end of the day this is our new normal”
