Remy Ma Addresses Nicki Minaj & Plastic Surgery Rumors

Remy Ma has had quite a year. From releasing an “Plata O Plamo” with Fat Joe, stint on VH1’s Love & Hip New York and her publicized beef with Nicki Minaj, this year has been a whirlwind. Recently, the Bronx native talked ghost writers, her natural body, and her latest project with Fat Joe. Peep some excerpts below.

On Ghost Writers In Hip-Hop:

When I first met Big Pun and Fat Joe and they asked me, “so do you write your own rhymes?” I was like, “what do you mean? Do you mean do I write it or do I hold it in my head?” And, they were like, “You actually wrote this? You know most females have someone else to do it.” And then they started pulling up reference tracks and my heart was crushed.

On “Ra” in the Nicki Minaj “No Frauds” Video:

I wasn’t really shocked. Nothing shocks me anymore. The world we live in, I wasn’t surprised. Nothing really shocks me and nothing really moves me either. I have to care but if you don’t really care it really doesn’t matter at all. The only question I had was, ‘why are you lying though?’ If it were supposed to be a shot, you kind of missed with that one.

On Expecting New Children:

Soon! I just want to finish all of my videos for my solo project and like my photos. I am not really pressed. I put things off a lot so that I can do my music. I feel like you don’t have forever. I don’t want to be 40-years-old and my eggs don’t work anymore.

On Rumors of Plastic Surgery:

I am still waiting on the before and after pictures. There is a thin line between petty and pathetic.

On her Upcoming Album “7 Winter’s and 6 Summer’s”:

I have my solo project that I am working on 7 Winters and 6 Summers. It’s going to be a work of art. I am taking it very seriously and I am really passionate. Right now we are riding this Plata O Plomo wave.

On Why She Did Love & Hip Hop New York:

It wasn’t because I needed the money or I was so pressed. It was because people didn’t know how to act around me and I saw it immediately when I came home. I used it so that people can see Remy Ma the mom, Remy Ma the Wife, Remy Ma the party girl. So that was one of my reasons for doing it.
