Bill Maher Refers To Himself As A House N*gger

People are calling for Bill Maher’s firing after he used a racial slur during an interview. The Late-night comedian used the word n*gger, while interviewing Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) on his HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher. During a segment in the show, Sasse invited Maher to visit Nebraska after the two talked how adults in California still dress up for Halloween. The senator told the comic,

We’d love to have you work in the fields with us.

Maher replied,

Work in the fields? Senator, I am a house n*gger.

Maher quickly asserted,

It’s a joke.
