Joel Osteen Blasted For Not Helping Houston Hurricane Victims, Closing Mega Church
Mega preacher Joel Osteen is receiving backlash on social media for keeping his megachurch closed during Hurricane Harvey. In fact, some suggest that the church, which is a 16,800-seat arena located near downtown Houston, should offer shelter for those in need.

Reportedly, the church canceled services Sunday, noting that the building was inaccessible due to flooding. However that didn’t stop backlash online.
According to a report, the pastor and his wife live in a $10.5 million mansion in the River Oaks neighborhood. Osteen has not responded yet to some of the social media criticism. However, he did send a daily email message out, calling for the public to pray for the devastation that Houston is facing.
Update: Osteen has announced a Hurricane Disaster Relief program. Click here for the details.
