Nicki Minaj’s Mom Testifies In Brother’s Rape Trial: He had a drinking problem.

On Thursday, Nicki Minaj’s mother, Carol Maraj, testified in her son Jelani Maraj’s rape trial. Jelani, who was married to wife Jacqueline Robinson, has been accused of raping his 11-year-old stepdaughter. Jelani’s family insists that the accusations are false and state that Jacqueline is trying to extort the family for $25 million.

The night that Jelani was arrested, his mother Carole wrote in a text message to Jacqueline,

You guys set up my child.

Initially, Carol told jurors she didn’t remember the text, but later admitted she wrote it.

A lot of things were going through my head that day. It was a confusing day.

Earlier that day, after the arrest, Jacqueline gave her mother-in-law a ride to the courthouse for Jelani’s arraignment. Carol recalled,

We had a little conversation. As we were getting out of the car she said, `It’s going to take a lot of money to get out of this one.’

Assistant DA Jared Rosenblatt said that days after the arrest, Carol texted Jacqueline,

I don’t think you should give people details on anything. You don’t have to share your business with everyone who calls.

Carol also testified that her son had a drinking problem.

I knew he had a drinking problem. I can’t say if he had a drinking problem during that time period.

Minaj has yet to testify about her brother’s case.

If drinking was the problem , there would be a lot more rape victims. Lock him up, lock him up for 25 years.

The question is, did they find any of his DNA on the 11 year old? You, Carol, talking about your son having a past drinking problem is about as mitigating as throwing him a concrete life preserver to keep him from drowning. You probably gave his funky ass another 5 years if he in fact did this.

Tbh I believe that he did do it. You know if Nicki or the mother was approached and then threatened by the wife then I truly believe we would have heard about that early on right? Im not familiar with how the court system work but if the brother is indeed guilty and the wife did not try to extort them, then Nicki Minajs career should come to an end, I don’t care if a family member of mine is out living a double life that is hurting someone else especially a child, I would love them and emotional ly be there for them but they would KNOW I do not condone that type of behavior and on top of that I WILL not LIE or shame a victim just to keep that member from going to prison. And so if Nicki agreed to make that lie up then she is DONE! I FIND IT FUNNY THAT NICKI WAS SUPPOSE TO TESTIFY BECAUSE SHE WAS THREATENED BUT BECAUSE OF HER CAREER SHE CHOSE NOT BUT THE MOTHER WILL TESTIFY??? HOW COULD SHE TESTIFY? WAS SHE PHISICALLY THERE? DID SHE SEE THE WIFE THREATENED NICKI?…PS: I FEEL LIKE HIS WEIGHT LOSS SPEAKS VOLUMES.
