Issa Rae To Executive Produce Two HBO Series

Issa Rae is securing the bag. Reportedly, the Insecure creator is producing two new HBO projects, Him Or Her and Sweet Life. The comedy and drama are part of Rae’s 2016 inked first look producing deal with HBO.

Travon Free, who was a Daily Show writer, will executive produce Him or Her, a comedy which chronicles the dating life of a bisexual black man and the distinctly different worlds and relationships he finds himself in. Deniese Davis, who is her TV partner, will also executive produce.

Her second project, Sweet Life, is a drama set in the black Beverly Hills of Windsor Hills. It is a coming of age tale of the well-heeled teens growing up in the LA neighborhood. It’s co-created by Rae and Scandal producer Raamla Mohamed. Both Mohamed and Rae are EPs.
