Mike Epps – Producer Accusing Comedian Of Stealing Speaks Out
LaMichael Finney, one of the men accusing Mike Epps of stealing his show idea, is speaking out. Today (December 28th), Finney released a statement explaining why he’s seeking legal action against the comedic actor. He says,
Family & Friends. myself & my business partners Calvin & Bervick @SMAwards have worked our ass off for the last 3 years, creating, planning, securing millions of dollars of finance, not to mention investing massive amounts of our own money & time into this project, strategizing our brainchild of a master plan “SOCIAL MEDIA AWARDS” only to have some one close to us attempt to steal it from right up under our nose, just as major TV studios agree in principle to produce & air our creation to the whole world! The only thing left to do is Fight for what is rightfully our creation! “SOCIAL MEDIA AWARDS” is CREATED -OWNED & TRADEMARKED by us. “SM AWARDS LLC” Therefore we have hired the best Hollywood lawsuit attorney that money can buy! #SocialMediaAwards coming to a Television Network near you soon! Stay tuned…….
He also posted a copy of his alleged Trademark, along with what appears to be an award that reads Social Media Awards.
As previously reported, Finney and two other producers have sent a cease and desist letter to Epps. They claim that he stole the idea for the upcoming awards show (“THE BET SOCIAL AWARDS”) that he’s doing with BET. Epps has yet to comment publicly.
