NBA Star Iman Shumpert Officially Launching Music Career
theJasmineBRAND exclusively reports Iman Shumpert is officially taking his music career serious. The 27-year-old NBA star is married to actress, singer and dancer Teyana Taylor.
This month, he filed legal documents to obtain the trademark “Iman” for use in music. The docs state that he plans to use the trademark for audio recording and production, entertainment services by a musical artist and producer, production of musical sound recording, entertainment services in the nature of live musical performances and services in the nature of live local performances by musician.
Outside of basketball, Shumpert has dabbled in rap music. In 2012, he released the song “Knicks Anthem” and the mixtape Th3 #Post90s. In 2013, he released the song “Dear Kendrick” in response to Kendrick Lamar’s verse in the song “Control” by Big Sean ft. Kendrick Lamar & Jay Electronica.
Iman’s wife, Teyana, is signed to Kanye West’s GOOD Music label. She’s currently working on her second album. theJasmineBRAND broke the story – the couple are also starring on their new reality show on VH1. See the teaser below.
