Cardi B (real name Belcalis Almanzar) has been hit with a $10 million dollar lawsuit by a man claiming to be her former manager. According to reports, the former manager’s name is Shaft and he filed a federal lawsuit against the former Love & Hip Hop New York reality star turned rapper. Sources claim that Shaft was responsible for orchestrating her hit single, ‘Bodak Yellow’ and he helped launch her career, treating her,
As if she was his daughter.
A spokesperson for Shaft said in a statement,
Since discovering Cardi B in 2015, Shaft has played an integral role in developing her music career and public image. While he is proud of their successful collaborations as she evolved from Instagram influencer to music megastar, Shaft is disappointed by her actions to freeze him out of her career, which are detailed in the complaint.
The spokesperson added,
