SZA – My Vocals Are permanently Damaged, I Wanna Be Left Alone!
SZA/Top Dawg Entertainment fans’ worst nightmare has come true. The singer posted and deleted tweets confirming that she has permanent vocal damage due to swollen vocal cords:
Just last week TDE head honcho, Top Dawg, revealed that he was pulling
SZA from the “Championship Tour” for mandatory vocal rest. He says:
I got some bad news. I have to take SZA off for a few days on the tour. Her vocal chords are swollena nd she have to rest her voice to prevent any permanent damage. We been monitoring her close and this is the reason she missed the Arizona and New Mexico dates.
However, if you paid to see SZA specifically, all is not lost. Last Wednesday, she made a surprise appearance at the West Palm Beach tour date. She replied to a fan’s tweet about her appearance:
Jus wanted to say hi man .. shit kills me ..I love to sing I love to FEEL YOU I love to be lost .I’m fucking miserable .pls believe me . Thank u
SZA’s vocal issues may be the reason behind her seemingly sudden decision to slow down her music career. As previously reported, her upcoming sophomore project will be her last album. She said:
I’m making the best album of my life for this next album and I know that… because it’s going to be my last album.
Is SZA’s career over? We certainly hope not.
