Former Teen Vogue Editor in Chief, Elaine Welteroth – I Was Assaulted by An Uber Driver!
Former Teen Vogue Editor in Chief, Elaine Welteroth, claims that was the victim of an attack by an Uber driver. She documented and reported footage from the scene in New York, where she says that she was assaulted and kicked out of the car. She posted:
Dear @Uber, I am posting the following video of an incident that occurred yesterday with one of your drivers Who refuse to drop me at the correct location told me it’s not his job to get me to the correct location (is this not the definition of the job?) shouted and demanded I get out of his car…and then called 911 on me!
Elaine also showed where she was located at 7th & Park Place – where the driver kicked her out, which she says was not her requested destination. She proceeded to show the bruises from where the Uber driver slammed her arm on his car door, forcing her out.
Elaine has since responded by thanking her Instagram followers for their support, and encouraging others to speak up. Her caption reads:
Current status: Heart open, head high! ??In the infamous words of Puff and Mase: Can’t nobody take my pride. Can’t nobody hold me down. Oh no. I got-ta keep on mooovin’! Thank you for the outpouring of support, IG fam! I love you, guys!! Know that I will always speak up if I feel like it could help make conditions better for ALL of us. And if your safety or well-being is ever threatened, I hope that you never have to second-guess whether or not you should speak up, too. We are all in this together. Happy #liberation day! #FourthofJuly”
Was Elaine’s horrific Uber incident a matter of racism, or is there more to the story?
