Cardi B’s Ex-Manager Says He Bought Her Teeth, Opened Her 1st Bank Account & Got Her An Apartment
Cardi B’s former manager, Klenord “Shaft” Raphael, is suing Cardi for $10 million after he says she froze him out of her career after he helped her get on. In return, Cardi filed a countersuit for $15 million, claiming that her former manager took advantage of her ignorance to the music industry and even tried to control her personal life. Shaft calls these allegations “outright lies and distortions” that make you “shake your head”. Reps for Shaft stated,
The facts are simple – Cardi B’s music, image and rise to superstardom were all developed and executed by Shaft and his team of writers and producers. The outright lies and distortions in her claims make you shake your head.
The reps go on to say,
[This is part of a campaign by] Cardi B and her team to defame and injure Shaft, the one person who saw promise in her, invested time and resources in her and succeeded in making her rich and famous.
As far as controlling who Cardi B dates, a source says that if Shaft tried to protect Cardi from Offset, it’s because she needed it. The insider reveals that the Migos rapper first demanded $25,000 for his verse on his collaboration with Cardi B, “Lick” but then upped the price to $50,000. The source says,
Shaft taught Cardi B the ropes, even to the point of opening her first bank account, buying her new teeth, getting her an apartment and enabling her to transform [and] normalize her day-to-day life. These are not actions of someone looking to exploit or take advantage of a young artist.
