Rosario Dawson To Star In USA Drama Pilot ‘Briarpatch’
Rosario Dawson is set to lead drama pilot Briarpatch. The hourlong series has been adopted from Ross Thomas’ 1984 novel of the same name, with Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail and Dawson executive producing. The USA network series will follow,
Allegra “Pick” Dill (Dawson), a tenacious and highly skilled investigator working in Washington, D.C., for a young, ambitious senator. When her 10-years-younger sister, a homicide detective, is killed by a car bomb, Allegra returns to her corrupt Texas hometown. What begins as a search for the murderer becomes a fraught and dangerous excavation of the past Allegra has long sought to bury.

Dawson, 39, has been in high demand. She received several offers during TV pilot season, opting to pass on them all. Currently, she also portrays Claire Temple on the Netlix series’ Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones and The Defenders. She also recurs on CW’s Jane The Virgin, now in it’s fourth season. Her film credits include “Rent,” “Men in Black” “The Lego Batman Movie” and most recently the 2018 coming-of-age film “Krystal” with Nick Robinson and T.I.
