Tiffany Haddish Accused Of Physically Attacking Ex-Husband, Ex-Says He Only Choked Her During Sex
Last year, “Girls Trip” star Tiffany Haddish released her memoir “The Last Black Unicorn.” theJasmineBRAND broke the story that in May, Haddish’s ex-husband, William Stewart, filed a suit against Haddish and publisher Simon & Schuster for libel, defamation, and slander, saying “The Ex-Husband” chapter of her book painted him as an abusive stalker during their five-year marriage. In the book, she accuses Stewart of choking, beating and kidnapping her. Now he’s adding more to their story.
Stewart now claims that Haddish was actually abusive towards him and that she had a temporary restraining order against him but it was dropped because her allegations were false.
Ms. Haddish recanted the allegations in the TRO and pled with law enforcement to dismiss the TRO because it was untrue. In fact, she confessed to attacking Mr. Stewart.
Stewart’s lawyers also claim they have audio recordings of Tiffany,
seeking the guidance of a psychic to help with her erratic and violent tendencies towards Mr. Stewart, not vice versa.
Stewart also dismisses allegations that he was ever abusive to Tiffany. In fact, the only time he became physically aggressive was during sex at Tiffany’s request. Stewart’s lawyers say,
Furthermore, we have information that will demonstrate Ms. Haddish regularly requested Mr. Stewart to become more aggressive with her during sex, including, among other things, to choke her as a part of their sexual intercourse.
They also recall a joke she told in a 2012 interview in which the comedian says,
He never beat me up, he just choked me a little bit.
Stewart’s lawyers concluded their letter with the following:
Mr. Stewart did not commit criminal domestic violence, nor did he abuse Tiffany Haddish during their marriage. He did not abandon his daughter. These assertions can never be unsaid and Mr. Stewart’s reputation has been irreparably damaged.
Tiffany Haddish and William Stewart divorced in 2013.
