Kanye Left Speechless After Being Questioned About Trump Support [VIDEO]
Kanye West was a guest on last night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live where he spoke about fighting hate with love, mental illness and backing Donald Trump. There was a lot to digest and take away from the interview but one major stand out was when Jimmy Kimmel questioned Kanye about Trump, rendering the “Jesus Walks” rapper speechless.
There are families being torn apart at the border of this country. You so famously and so powerfully once said that George Bush doesn’t care about black people. It makes me wonder, what makes you think that Donald Trump does… or about any people at all?
Kanye was at a loss for words. It became so awkward that Kimmel cut to commercial. Kanye did reveal that he supports Trump because it was the opposite of what was expected of him.
You know, it’s funny, in this world that we live in there’s two main motivating forces. I tweet about it all the time: love and fear. You can’t explain love. My cousin is locked up for murder. I love him, he still did a bad thing but I still love him. As a musician, an African-American guy on Hollywood, all these different things, everyone around me tried to pick my candidate for me and told me every time I said that I liked Trump, that I couldn’t say it out loud or my career would be over, I’d get kicked out of the black community because black folks are a monolith, we can only be democrats.
Kanye says that his support for Trump is a symbol of him overcoming fear and doing what you want no matter what anyone says.
