Nicki Minaj’s Mom Postpones Interview About Son’s Rape Case

Nicki Minaj’s mother, Carol Maraj, is postponing her tell-all interview. It will now be posted on social media on August 11th and on TV August 17th.

As previously reported, Carol will be speaking on her son Jelani Maraj’s rape case in an interview. She insinuated that details on the case will be given in this interview. Her initial twitter announcement read:

When she initially shared the news, the Barbz asked Nicki’s mother not to move forward with the interview, urging that talk of Jelani’s rape case will negatively affect sales of Nicki’s upcoming “Queen” album. Twitter user @skinnny_queens attacked Carol, tweeting:

As we previously reported, Jelani Maraj was convicted for the 2015 rape of an 11-year-old girl, which was also his step-daughter.

His lawyers vehemently denied the charges, claiming his ex-wife attempted to extort his superstar sister for $25 million. The most recent talk of Jelani and his case was Miss Carol denying that viral footage of a prisoner brutally jumped by inmates was her son. She issued this statement:

“Hi guys, this is a big hoax. I just saw my son. Don’t let them waste your energy anymore. Be blessed.”
