Lil’ Kim: My Albums Are Re-Charting!
As Lil’ Kim prepares for her upcoming album, she’s also reliving in her glory days. Kim’s debut and sophomore album — “Hard Core” and “Notorious K. I. M.” — have charted on the iTunes Charts. In the Hip-Hop/Rap album category “Hardcore” holds the #6 spot, while “Notorious K. I. M.” snuck its way the #30 spot. The “Jump Off” rapper shared the news to her Instagram followers on Tuesday.
Through a thread of screenshots of chart data, she attached a caption,
“THIS IS UNBELIEVABLY INSANE!!! My 2 little babies Hard Core and Notorious K.I.M. are re-charting and running the victory lap!! Thank you to everyone for the support!! ?? God is the greatest!!!”
Upon its original release of November 12, 1996, “Hard Core” did not chart on the Billboards until November 30, 1996. The album spent 47 weeks on the chart and its peak position was #11. “Notorious K. I. M.” made a Billboard entrance didn’t make an entrance until July 15, 2000 at the #4 spot and spent 37 weeks on the charts. Kim’s recent charting is followed by Nicki Minaj’s release of “Barbie Dreams,” from her album “Queen.” In each song, both rappers use satire and sarcasm about sleeping with R&B and rap’s most dominating artists.
Kim’s new album is slated for release in November.
