EXCLUSIVE: Pebbles Settles $40 Million Lawsuit w/ Viacom Over TLC Biopic
theJasmineBRAND exclusively reports, Pebbles (real name Perri Pebbles Reid) has settled her lawsuit with Viacom over the VH1’s TV biopic, CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story. According to court documents obtained by theJasmineBRAND, the order notes that
‘The parties have notified the Court that a resolution has been reached. The Court hereby DIRECTS the Clerk to ADMINISTRATIVELY CLOSE this case. the parties shall file a stipulation of dismissal upon finalization of the settlement documents.’
The case was settled in Georgia this month.
As previously reported, the former manager of TLC sued Viacom for a whopping $40 million.
She claimed that the movie portrayed her
‘as a conniving and dishonest business woman who hoodwinked three innocent girls and exploited their talent for her own personal gain.’
In the suit, she added that Viacom
‘ignored fundamental canons of journalistic and literary conduct by publishing false and defamatory accusations with actual malice.’
She claimed that many accusations made in the film about her were completely false.
In fact, she says that she never controlled TLC’s lawyers or accountants, never withheld contract terms from TLC and
always paid the group what they were owed. [Click here and here for the backstory].
