Da Brat Officially Off Probation Throws Prison Party: LisaRaye, Bow Wow, Jermaine Dupri Attend

Rapper/radio personality Shawntae “Da Brat” Harris is officially off papers! Da Brat recently celebrated completing her mandatory seven years of probation. One would think after serving 21 months in prison, Da Brat would want nothing else to do with a correctional facility. Instead she embraced her past by throwing a prison-themed probation party! Everyone dressed up as inmates in orange suits, sweats, and black and white sweatsuits. Some were even dressed as officers! And the menu included “Cup of Noodle” slams. Ha!

The star-studded costume party included guests like her Rickey Smiley Show co-host Head Krack, So So Def founder/super-producer Jermaine Dupri, and her sister – actress Lisa Raye. JD posted a photo from the party with the caption:

“@jermainedupri Tonight we celebrate the end of @sosobrat 7 year probation,it’s been long and tuff, but it’s over!! She is no longer on paper”

However, Da Brat isn’t completely off the hook.

She served prison time for striking former NFL cheerleader, Shayla Stevens, in the head with a champagne bottle in 2007, which caused Shayla severe facial scarring and nerve damage. In addition to the prison time and probation, Da Brat was ordered to pay Shayla over $6 million, according to Hip Hop DX. It seems as if Brat has yet to pay that debt. She recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy regarding that fine, along with other debts including missed IRS and credit card payments.

The drama doesn’t stop there! As previously reported, So So Def rapper Bow Wow had a violent meltdown at Brat’s probation party. Both Bow Wow and Brat star on WeTV’s “Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta,” and the rumor is Bow Wow attacked the camera crew and destroyed property. The reason for the freak-out is unknown.
