Bill Cosby’s Publicist Compares Him To Jesus After He Was Sentenced To 3 to 10 Years In Prison
Bill Cosby’s sentence has officially been handed down after he was convicted in April on three counts of aggravated indecent assault for drugging and assaulting Andrea Constand at his home in 2004.
The 81-year-old actor and comedian was sentenced Tuesday to 3 to 10 years in state prison. Following his sentencing, Cosby’s bail was revoked and he was lead away in handcuffs. In a press conference, Cosby’s publicist, Andrew Wyatt, referred to the sentencing as racist, sexist and compared the situation to Jesus.
“I believe and think it is important to point out that this has been the most racist and sexist trial in the history of the United States. What is going on in Washington today with Brett Kavanaugh is part of that sex war that Judge O’Neill along with his wife are a part of.”
“Mr. Cosby’s doing great, and Mr. Cosby knows that God is watching over him. He knows that these are lies. They persecuted Jesus and look what happened. I’m not saying Mr. Cosby is Jesus, but we know what this country has done to black men for centuries.”
Another Cosby accuser Lili Bernard calls Cosby’s’ sentencing a “hallelujah moment” but says she still has mixed emotions.
“It’s incredibly important. I do have mixed emotions. On the one hand I feel absolutely elated that justice was served. On the other hand I also feel disappointed because clearly the three-year minimum sentence does not adequately reflect the havoc this man, this rapist, has inflicted on so many women including myself.”
"It's a hallelujah moment," says Cosby accuser Lili Bernard in response to Bill Cosby being sentenced to jail time. "This is a momentous, historic sentencing in the #MeToo era" https://t.co/7LdEV86LPC pic.twitter.com/gWj0uWoWT9
