Chance the Rapper Isn’t Running for Mayor, Endorses Amara Eniya
Chance the Mayor had a nice ring to it, but it isn’t happening this year. Chance the Rapper has officially endorsed Amara Eniya for mayor of his hometown of Chicago. He recently held a press conference to give his official endorsement for the director of the Austin Chamber of Commerce. He said:
“I’d like to say very narcissistically, if I back you, you have a chance, absolutely.”

The Chicago Tribune agrees with Chance’s stance that he will push the millennial vote, as well as bring money to Amara’s campaign. He said:
“We will see the largest 18-25 voter turnout in Chicago history.”

Chance the Rapper also added that, despite his father’s political involvement in one of Amara Eniya’s opponent’s campaigns, he believes in Amara enough to stand by his endorsement. He said:
“I’ve had candidates I’ve supposedly had a good relationship with hit me up and let me know they are the person most likely to win this seat and that I’m throwing away an endorsement.”
He continued:
“And I just want to continue to push the point that there is no monolith in vote…I think you are looking at the future mayor of Chicago.”
Have you registered to vote?
