Kim Kardashian Issues An Apology For Calling Friends “Retarded”
Kim Kardashian Issues An Apology For Calling Friends “Retarded” For Not Understanding Her Halloween Costume
Kim Kardashian faced some serious backlash after she dropped the r-word in an Instagram video recently.
The incident occurred when Kim and her good friend Jonathan Cheban dressed up as Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee for Kendall Jenner’s Birthday/Halloween party. Unfortunately, the costume didn’t resonate well and people didn’t get it.
Nobody knows who we are here! You guys are all too f*cking young. This is so sad.
That’s when Kim referred to people as “retarded”. She told former assistant Stephanie Shepherd,
Nobody knows who I am. Yeah! Retarded.
The Instagram Story, which Kim later deleted, sparked controversy as “retarded” is considered a slur against those with special needs.
Kim later issued an apology for using the word.
I want to apologize for what I said in a recent video post that is inappropriate and insensitive to the special needs community. I try to learn from my mistakes and this is one of those times. Please know that my intention is always pure, and in this case, it was a mistake. I’m sorry.
Do you think Kim’s apology was genuine?
