Dame Dash Finally Gets His Long-Awaited Payout From Lee Daniels
Damon Dash is a happy man now that he’s gotten Lee Daniels to finally pay his outstanding debt. Dame Dash says that he funded several of Daniels’ early projects to the tune of $2 million, but never got repayment or the percentage of profits he was promised. For years, he has been trying to get his money, even taking Daniels to court for $25 million at one point.

In June, Dash and Daniels came face to face, with Dash further pressing Daniels for his money.

Lee Daniels once again agreed that he would pay Damon Dash and now, 6 months later, it appears he has finally made good on his word.
According to reports, Lee Daniels and Dame Dash have settled matters and each side will pay their own attorney’s fees. The settlement amount has not been revealed to the public but reportedly, Dash is satisfied with the outcome. He says:
I’m good. Just happy 2 people from the culture could work things out.
Since Dame funded Lee Daniels’ films, Daniels has gone on to rake in lots of dough — especially with his hit TV shows Empire and Star. It’s good to see he finally paid Damon back and both sides can go back to creating more content.
