Tekashi Allegedly Screwed Fashion Nova Over After Getting 6 Figures, Sources Blame Nicki Minaj
Tekashi 6ix9ine and Fashion Nova could possibly be at odds. The rapper was forced to release his debut album from jail on Tuesday (Nov. 27), following a leak over the holiday weekend; upon it’s release, it was revealed the rapper did not uphold his end of an agreement with the fashion company. A standout track on the “DUMMY BOY” album called “MAMA” features Kanye West and “FEFE” rapper Nicki Minaj. In the song’s first verse, 6ix9ine raps,
Splish, splash, Apple Bottoms make that ass fat
While Apple Bottoms was a popular clothing brand created by Nelly in the early 2000s, according to reports, the stanza was actually supposed to go like,
Splish, splash, Fashion Nova make that ass fat
The e-commerce based company allegedly cut a six-figure deal with 6ix9ine to include their company’s name and brand in the song and video, and allegedly paid the rapper all the money up front. The video has been exiled subsequently due to a drive-by shooting at a Beverly Hills Mansion, where the video for the single was being shot. The lyric was changed following it’s release and sources say its because of Minaj.
Reports claim after Cardi B inked a deal with the company, Nicki allegedly asked for the line to be removed and 6ix9ine allegedly conceded. Before requesting their money back, Fashion Nova is reportedly waiting to see what will be the outcome of 6ix9ine’s trial.
It’s safe to note, during the final battle between the war of Cardi B and Nicki Minaj; Minaj claimed Fashion Nova had been itching to collaborate with her on a fashion line for over a year.
Poor baby has no idea Fashion Nova asked me to do that deal she has for over a year.
