EXCLUSIVE: Married to Med’s Quad Webb-Lunceford Details Mariah Huq’s Alleged Cocaine Use, Shuts Down Rumors of Sleeping w/ Mariah’s Brother-In-Law
It’s no secret that season six of Bravo’s “Married to Medicine” has been full of the usual ingredients of a tasty reality TV show: sun, shade, and explosive claims. Among the most explosive was a nail-in-the-coffin fallout between cast members Quad Webb-Lunceford and Mariah Huq. Mariah alleged that her former friend and castmate, Quad, had an affair with her sister’s husband. Quad followed that claim with a bomb of her own that shocked fans and viewers – Mariah’s alleged drug abuse.
In an exclusive interview with theJasmineBRAND, Quad Webb-Lunceford details the demise of her friendship with Mariah Huq. The BRAVO reality star also reveals that she allegedly walked in on Mariah using cocaine. She also opens up about tension amongst the cast and whether or not she plans to continue on the show.
On why she’s chosen to reveal details of Mariah Huq’s drug use:
Over the years, a lot of things have been said about me. A lot of lies have been told on me. And I have tried my very best to consistently take the high road. But I’ve really just come to terms with the fact that I’m being gracious towards people who don’t show me grace. And I’m upholding integrity when others don’t have it. And I just said, ‘You know what, at this point in the game, I’m just gonna be honest.’ I was always the person for me to value the friendship that both Mariah and I shared. We were friends. And I valued it enough that no matter what happened or what transpired, or no matter what she said about me – I kind of said, ‘You know what, just because we’re not friends anymore it doesn’t mean that I have to go and tell what I know about her. But enough is enough for anybody, you understand what I’m saying? I think I just got to my breaking point where I was just like, ‘F*ck it.’ And I really mean that. I don’t open my mouth to tell lies. When I open my mouth, it’s the truth.
Quad Webb-Lunceford broke down in detail how she discovered Mariah’s alleged cocaine usage:
“I walked in on her using cocaine. We were at a friends’s condo and hung out in Midtown, and the people that she hangs with, and I saw her. I was sitting in the living room having my wine, and listening to some music. We were hanging out with the other person that was there, and she goes from off the patio, the terrace – and I’m like, ‘What the f*ck is she doing?’ They go off the terrace, and they go into the bedroom, and I’m like, ‘Hold on.’ This is a married woman and a gay guy. So I’m like, ‘Wait a minute.’ You know, what they doin’ in the bedroom? Ain’t nothin’ they should be doing in the bedroom. You stay in the common area. You don’t go into people’s bedrooms…so they go in the bedroom, and I’m like, ‘D*mn, ain’t nobody in here!’ So when I go into the bedroom and I see ain’t nobody in there, I’m like, ‘Where the hell they go?’ So if you bend around the corner a little bit more to the right, that’s where the restroom is. You know how restrooms are set up, where the sink was on the left and then they have the shower and all of that. And then there was a separate door to the right that facilitated the toilet. Well, when I walked in and finally walked into the restroom, they were over there just getting they life – cocaine and all!”
She continued:
“And I’m like, ‘What are you doin? You are a mother, you are a wife, you have children!’ I turned to the person like, ‘Why would you give this to her?’ You know, and it really broke my heart, because where I’m from I don’t really know people that come back from things like that, you understand what I’m saying? In my mind, that’s a junkie. I’ve seen it happen to the best of them. And it really broke my heart, so I went into the single stall where the toilet was, and I locked the door, and I was just crying. ‘Cause in my mind, I’m like, ‘My friend is gone.’ So she starts on beating on the door, [saying] ‘Quad! Quad! Quad! Open the door! Open the door!’ And I’m like, ‘No! Why would you do it?’ And I’m in tears! This is hurting me! I’m affected. You know, I’m a very passionate person. People like to say I cry all the time, I don’t give a d*mn. You’re gonna know exactly how I’m feeling. When I’m mad, you’re gonna know it. When I’m sad, you’re gonna know it…I don’t try to hide my feelings. And I cared so much for her, and I thought about her children. I thought about her husband, and it was very devastating.”
She says that Mariah attempted to deflect from Quad’s shocking discovery by blaming it on a test of loyalty within their friendship. Quad calls it a manipulation tactic:
“So she’s knocking and beating on the door. [Mariah is saying,] ‘Let me in! Let me in! Why are you locking the door?’ And I’m like, ‘No! Why would you do cocaine?’ And then she’s just like, ‘[Scoffs] I was just trying to see if you were my real friend! I wasn’t gonna do that!’ And I’m like, ‘What? I saw you doing it! What are you talking about?’…She was shocked. She thought they were in there together doing what they do. And it’s like she was shocked. It’s like she was kind of startled. She didn’t realize I was gonna see that, and she really didn’t want me to see that – but I saw it. So at this point she began with the manipulation: [She says] ‘Oh, I was just trying to see if you were my real friend. I was just trying to see how you were going to respond.’ What? What you mean? First of all, she didn’t even know I was about to walk in the room. Why are you testing me? And why are you testing me by doing cocaine? You’re not testing me. This is what you do!”
Quad hinted that Mariah has been filming under the influence for many seasons. She said:
“It was some time ago, but remember when we had the incident at STK? She had powder on her nose then. In a rage, they had to tote her out the restaurant. No shoes on her feet. She started hitting me. She was hitting me at the table. And she was telling my friend, ‘I hope you make her happy.’ And [my friend] was like, ‘Hold on. Quad got a husband who makes her happy.’ Like, ‘I’m just her friend. What’s going on with you?’ And even after they put her out of STK, she then comes back in STK acting belligerent again. And I think at the point that’s when a couple people had to take her home. ‘Cause she was just completely out of it. And we’ve seen this over the years, this erratic behavior. We’ve seen this a number of times. This is nothing new. Production knows that she does that. People know that she’s using. And the deal is that it’s just like she’s spiraling out of control. And at some point – although I’m not her friend – you feel sorry; you wanna help her. A part of me wants to help her, because I think that she’s just losing it.”
When asked if their “Married to Medicine” castmates know about the alleged drug abuse:
“It’s been said. It’s been around the city of Atlanta for years. I bumped into someone in New York, and he even told me that he did it with her and another individual that’s extremely close to her. So, you know, I think she’s adapted this and it’s a part of her lifestyle.”
Quad explains why Mariah’s claim that she slept with her brother-in-law is false, detailing that members of Mariah’s family was a part of her wedding:
“So that story, I actually brought it up at the reunion. The question was actually posed to me, asking me was she a liar. And I said, ‘Yes, and the latest thing is that I was supposed to have slept with her sister’s husband.’ And I said, ‘It’s a d*mn lie, and she knows it.’ And, of course, you guys saw the clipping of it, and you’ll see a little bit more. And, again, like I said, I think she leaked that out to that particular blog site. It’s nothing like theJasmineBRAND, I can tell you that. It’s very interesting, even in that story she said that I cheated on my husband with her sister’s husband. First of all, when she says this was supposed to be taking place, I didn’t even know my husband. I had not even met my husband. I met my husband in 2011…so this is what I’m talking about. Let’s roll up and fabricate all these stories. He proposed to me September 24, 2011. We got married July 28, 2012. Mariah was my matron of honor. Her daughter, Laura, was my flower girl. Her son, Ethan, was the ring-bearer. Her nephew of the one and only sister she has – which means this is the same person who I was supposed to have slept with her husband – her son, Ian, was the escort in my wedding for Chloe and Kari (Quad’s dogs). The tea is that the man probably was cheating, but he wasn’t cheating with me.”
Quad Webb-Lunceford feels that she was used to deflect from Mariah’s on-screen fight with Dr. Heavenly Kimes:
“I’m telling you, she needed a distraction. I think she was getting a lot of flack about how she reacted, and responded, and her behavior when she broke that glass on Heavenly. I think she wanted a distraction. She wanted to put out a bigger story. She wanted people to talk about something else – which it did. It got people talking about something else…Which even then, I feel like she was high. That whole situation went from zero to a hundred, real quick, in the words of Drake. Yes, ma’am, it did. Heavenly was one person removed from her, so her life was not threatened at all. You get to the point where you wanna break the bottom of a glass on the leg of a chair? And she’s saying, ‘She’s bigger than me! She’s bigger than me!’ But the girl is not even confronting you in a physical way at all…You guys gotta be very careful when you’re dealing with her. The very next scene [she says], ‘Oh the glass just broke in my hand. I would never do anything like that. That’s not who I am. That’s not my character. I would never do anything like that.’ But we saw you do it!”
She details how she confronted the rumor of an affair with Mariah’s brother-in-law, and how it affected her:
“Let’s not forget that I used to actually date her cousin! That’s how I came to know her! Years ago – maybe 20 years ago – I used to date her cousin. When their other cousin graduated from college, I was at the graduation, family dinners, everything. So when I asked them, ‘Where are you getting this from?’ Give me something concrete! Give me something! What are you talking about? I was so heartbroken. So heartbroken. They never presented anything…where’s the man at? Bring him to the door. I asked them to bring him to the door, they never brought him to the door. So I said, ‘What about a lie detector test? Let’s all take one.’ Never. [She said] ‘Nah, we don’t need to do that.’ Well, how are you so sure and so strong in what you’re saying? And when I present everything – everything, everything – to give a rebuttal to what you’re saying to provide proof and truth, you don’t wanna do it? I don’t understand that.”
On Aydin and Mariah Huq’s claims that they gave her a job on the show:
“Mariah has no power. If Mariah had power, then she would’ve kept herself on the show for the number of years that she wasn’t on the show. Let’s keep it real. Mariah has been a friend of the show, and a number of years she wasn’t on the show at all. If I was the EP, I know I wouldn’t write myself off.”
When asked if her friendship with Mariah Huq is over:
“I mean, at this point, there’s really nothing I can do with her. What can I do with her? Everything that I say – she belittles it. She tries to discredit it. I mean, this is everything. Even at the reunion, we’re talking about some things that I personally went through in my marriage. I personally went through in my marriage, where only my husband and I share in our marriage. And when I came forward and I’m talking to him about what he did, even after him saying that he did those things – she turned around and was like, ‘Oh, that ain’t true. That ain’t true. Those are allegations.’ How the hell can you tell me what I went through in my marriage? She’s not married to me or Gregory!”
The third hour of the “Married to Medicine” reunion special airs on January 13, 2019.
