“Coming to America 2” Confirmed, Production Has Started
The kingdoms of Zamunda and Wakanda are officially uniting! Academy Award-winning “Black Panther” costume designer, Ruth E. Carter, confirmed on social media that production for Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall‘s “Coming to America” sequel has started! She posted photos posing with both Eddie and Arsenio while holding her coveted Oscar award with the following caption:
“GOOD MORNING MY NEIGHBORS! It’s official! Preliminary fitting for Coming to America 2 with Prince Akeem, Semmi and Oscar.”

Eddie Murphy confirmed “Coming to America 2” this past January. He gave this official statement:
“After many years of anticipation, I’m thrilled that Coming to America 2 is officially moving forward. We’ve assembled a great team that will be led by Craig Brewer, who just did an amazing job on Dolemite, and I’m looking forward to bringing all these classic and beloved characters back to the big screen.”

Ruth E. Carter will help create memorable costumes for African royalty again, dressing Prince Akeem just as she did with King T’challa. “Black Panther” earned her the “Best Costume Design” award at this year’s Oscar’s.
