Kim Kardashian Makes $1 Million Per Instagram Post, Sues Fashion Company For Using Her Image
Say what you want about Kim Kardashian, but she is serious goals when it comes to pulling in money on social media. And she wants to make sure companies can’t take advantage of that.
She filed a lawsuit against Miss Guided clothing company for using her image without her permission on its page. While Miss Guided has a solid following of its own (currently more than 4 million followers on Instagram), Kardashian, who currently has 136 million followers on the social app, said in her lawsuit that the company owes her for posting a snapshot of her as if she was an ambassador for the brand.
Miss Guided has yet to respond to the lawsuit, so Kardashian took things up a notch and is requesting the judge grant a $5 million default judgment in her favor. She justified the amount by saying she brings in between $300,000 and $500,000 for just one Instagram post. Interestingly enough, one source said that she actually brings in closer to $1 million for an Instagram post.
In legal documents, she states that she often rejects offers from companies to post on about them on her page because she doesn’t want to be affiliated with the brand. As for Miss Guided, Kardashian said their posts about her have tarnished her brand.
This isn’t the first time Kardashian has been caught up in a battle with a clothing company. Allegedly, Fashion Nova offered Kardashian $1 million to make a post wearing their clothes. She turned it down because she said the clothing line often sells knock-off items of her husband, Kanye West’s Yeezy line.
West responded by giving Kardashian $1 million and making her part owner of his company.
