Gayle King Making $11 Million Yearly In New CBS Deal
Last week, we reported about Gayle King rumored to be doubling her salary at CBS. Now new rumored details about her salary are being released—and King just snagged a pretty hefty payday.
Previously, CBS anchor Gayle King was reportedly raking in $5.5 million at the network, but her profile drastically increased (along with ratings) when she conducted the high-profile interview with R. Kelly that went viral earlier this year. The success of that interview is said to have allowed King to fiercely negotiate her contract and based on the final amount, it definitely worked.

According to reports, King will continue her position as host of CBS This Morning, but she will now be getting $11 million annually, doubled from her previous $5.5 million salary. Rumors were also swirling that King was considering leaving the network if she didn’t get a considerable raise.
As part of a massive overhaul of CBS This Morning and the network’s evening news broadcasts, King will stay on CBS This Morning, while her co-host Norah O’Donnell will leave the show and is set to take over as anchor of CBS Evening News, effectively pushing Jeff Glor out of the position.

CBS News president Susan Zirinsky has denied rumors that King was behind O’Donnell leaving CBS This Morning. All the remaining line-up changes at CBS are set to be announced on-air Monday, May 6th, during the broadcast, sources say.
