Wendy Williams Says She’s Taking Control Of Her Career After Split W/ Kevin Hunter: He Wouldn’t Bring Me In Until The Deal Was Done, Now I Wanna Be In Every Meeting

Wendy Williams is reclaiming her career! She candidly dished on how she’s now in control of her affairs amid her pending divorce with Kevin Hunter, who was her manager until she filed for the split.

While speaking at a conference Williams, 54, opened up about how she has taken back control of her career.

“You’ve gotta be at the ground floor of your operation. I don’t care how big you get. … Don’t just rely on your team to bring back the information because you’re such a big shot and you don’t have to be there.”

She then said that she learned that lesson the hard way thanks to her experience with Hunter. 

“Now, the difference in my business is that — you know, ‘cause it used to be Kev and the team would show up, and then Kev wouldn’t bring me in until he knew, ‘OK, the deal’s done. Now it’s time for you to meet the people. Not now. I wanna be in on the first conversation of the deal, and I wanna be on every meeting until the deal is done. And that’s the way I roll.”

While she advised the young females in the audience to focus on their careers instead of love and relationships, she added that she’s not the type to dismiss a man altogether.

 “I am a wife or a serious girlfriend. I’m not one of these girls who, you know, ‘I don’t need no man.’”

Her comments come after rumors that Hunter was “controlling,” “sneaky” and untrustworthy. He’s rumored to have kept Williams 

“cooped up only to be a show pony.”

But his team said Williams was a homebody and didn’t like going out, especially to celebrity events. Either way, that’s certainly changed since her split as well considering she’s been seen flicking it up with Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian and Blac Chyna.
