Bernie Sanders Applauds Cardi B On Her Political Smarts ‘We Have Talked On The Phone Several Times’

Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is a fan of Cardi B, and it’s not just because of her popular music. Sanders had nothing but great things to say about Cardi. And it looks like a genuine friendship between the two is budding. During an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” he said,

“I know her. We have talked on the phone on several occasions. She’s really smart. And she is really concerned about the topics… that’s the truth. She comes from a humble background. She knows what it’s like to live in poverty, to struggle, and she wants to make sure we can improve life…”

Cardi shared the video and revealed she’s been interested in politics since she was in high school.

“This makes me so happy! I know my High school history teacher is so happy ?believe it or not guys I was in advance placement in high school for Government and history it was a subject that I learn fast cause I naturally love it! I even took more classes in college but I dropped out cause money came first and I was also a chasing dirty a** men …but w.e….anyways I want us this year to get more familiar with or candidates “democratic my preference “ Take a little bit of our time and open our eyes on what’s going on in this country and how we can change it.

She also shared a story from a woman who came to her show in Wichita, KS and happened to be a Senator. The woman said she took her daughters to a Cardi B concert and took a picture with her. She was surprised when the rapper stopped her and asked her about her views. The woman said,

“I was blown away and very impressed with her intellectual comments on the issues our country is facing today. So, the point of this post ‘is we should never judge a book by it’s cover and I admire and respect this boss lady'”

Meanwhile, Cardi B is no stranger of stanning for Bernie Sanders. While he lost in the primary Presidential race to Hillary Clinton in 2016, Cardi said he’s the best option this time around.

“I been reading about Bernie Sanders and I’m really sad how we let him down in 2016. This man been fighting for equal rights, HUMAN rights for such a long time. Seeing this country become a better place been really his passion for a long time not a new front for a campaign.”

Sanders thanked Cardi for her support.

“Thank you @iamcardib! Our fight for justice is far from over and we are not giving up.”
