Jimmie Walker: I’ve Begged Jimmy Kimmel To Be On His Show, He Won’t Put Me On

It’s the battle between actor Jimmie Walker and late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel.

During a recent interview, Walker called out Kimmel for not bringing him on his show.

“Jimmy Kimmel doesn’t use me on his TV show. I’ve begged to be on his TV show, he won’t put me on the show.”

He said they never had any issue, but for some reason, Kimmel just refuses to allow him to come on as a guest.

He added that Norman Lear, who has produced iconic sitcoms like “The Jeffersons,” “Sanford & Sons,” and ironically “Good Times,” which is Walker’s claim to fame, doesn’t want to work with him.

Norman Lear

“Jimmy Kimmel and Norman Lear, they would never hire me. They just don’t appreciate what I do. Norman Lear’s a great guy. I think you have people that you like, but won’t work with again. And I think that’s what Norman thinks about me. He likes Jimmie Walker, will never say anything bad about Jimmie Walker, but I think he feels that because I was on the show, it changed what he had planned for the show. It kind of overtook what he wanted to do.”

He added that “Good Times” was the first show that Lear actually walked away from.

“He worked on every show throughout the whole thing, but he left our show because he just didn’t dig it anymore. But he’s a good guy. I love Norman and he would say he loves me too. But we’re creatively a little different.”
